Dear Me,
When will I see your sunshine again? When will your smile be as authentic as the lips that house it? When will you be you again? I feel like everyday you are losing a piece of who you used to be, like a candle that has been snuffed out or a star locked up in a dark chest, stuffed underneath a bed.
From where does your unhappiness stem? Could it be from the fact that you have fallen from grace? Fallen far from the grace of God? Could it be that you have created a bed on which you are incapable of lying upon?
You have become an emotional wreck...so free are your tears, so abundant are your emotions. From what crevice have they escaped? Your days are growing lonelier, your nights are growing colder. Never before have you been desperately grasping for reasons to start anew. Since when has your vocabulary changed from that of joy and hope and inspiration to one of woe and gloom and desperation? It is so unbecoming of you!
You are a mother! You are a vessel that has brought forth life! You ought to be a well, overflowing with joy and wisdom and the agape that God alone can put in your heart!
A problem with him is a brokenness within you. You continue to fall short, a staggering under performance. Your mind is so cluttered with thoughts that it chokes out the very prayers in your heart and on your lips. You're like a deer caught in headlights - trapped and not knowing which way to turn!
You've always managed to keep your head above water; you are now drowning. You've always managed to keep moving forward; for every step you now take, you take two to three back. You have fallen asleep in the middle of the great play.
Awake! Wake up from your slumber and come back to me.
Sincerely,
You
